Wetting WA’s Wickham with recycled water

Wickham Wastewater Treatment Plant

Client

Rio Tinto

Location

Wickham, Western Australia

About The Project

Wickham, a small historic town in Western Australia’s north-west, has experienced a population boom in recent years due to the construction of Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Port B.  As a result, the town needed a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).  The plant draws wastewater from the existing facultative lagoons and produces recycled water to irrigate open spaces in and around the township.

The plant included pump stations, filters, ultra-filtration c/w backwash, chemical dosing, ultra-violet treatment and storage tanks.

Western Controls engaged CNF to design the PLC panel, communication panel and field marshalling panels. Osmoflo also engaged CNF to design the earthing system and cable reticulation, and to complete the Lightning Risk Assessment.
