For an entity to be carbon neutral means to have ‘net zero’ carbon emissions. This is achieved through reducing carbon emissions where possible and offsetting carbon emissions that can’t easily be reduced or avoided, which is done by purchasing carbon credits.

Climate Active Certification

Climate Active is an Australian Government run Carbon Neutral Certification scheme. Its certification is awarded to businesses who have achieved a credible state of carbon neutrality.

Climate Active Certification can be achieved for Organizations, Events, Precincts and Products & Services. The certification and its logo help people to identify and choose brands that are making a real difference.

Being Climate Active certified means that a business or organization has demonstrated a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and mitigating the impacts of climate change. This can bring a range of benefits, including improved reputation and credibility, cost savings through improved energy efficiency, and access to new markets and business opportunities.
