OHS Statement
The Management of CNF & Associates Pty Limited have a responsibility to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, healthy and safe working environments and work practices. In addition to complying with legislative provisions, measures for achieving this objective include the following:
- Setting out in writing our policy and arrangements in the field of occupational health and safety and bringing this information to the notice of employees in language they readily understand;
- Controlling or eliminating hazards at work and, where appropriate, the provision of protective clothing; Providing adequate supervision of work, of work practices and of the application and use of occupational health and safety measures;
- Giving necessary instructions and training, taking account of the functions and capacities of employees; Providing, where necessary, for measures to deal with emergencies and accidents, including adequate first-aid arrangements, and for rehabilitation;

Verifying the implementation of applicable standards on occupational health and safety regularly, e.g. by environmental monitoring, and undertaking systematic audits from time to time;

Keeping records relevant to occupational health and safety. This may include records of all notifiable accidents and personal damage which arise in the course of work, records of authorisation and exemptions under laws or regulations in the field and any conditions to which they may be subject, data concerning exposure to specified substances and agents, etc.
- The Safety Manager plays a key role in implementing an occupational health and safety program. The Safety Manager will interpret the requirements of safety legislation, instructions, etc., and resolve misunderstandings between management and workforce.
The Safety Manager will ensure that:
- Training of employees has been adequate and appropriate;
- Employees have the necessary skills for the job;
- Work methods are safe and are being observed;
- Hazards are detected and eliminated.

CNF & Associates Pty Limited requires operations at its workplaces to be carried out in safe and healthy manner.
CNF & Associates Pty Limited ensures that safe working areas, safe systems of works together with safe material handling procedures and protective equipment are standard at all workplaces.
In order to achieve these goals, the company provides adequate safety and health training to management and the workplace. All work is performed with the minimum of risk to health and safety by providing adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to employees in safe and healthy methods of work.
An injury procedure which includes a Rehabilitation Policy is mandatory at all workplaces.
The company expects all members of the workforce to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of other workers in the workplace and to comply with the company health and safety requirements.
Also, the company ensures that all employees of subcontractors employed at our workplaces are provided with a safe and healthy environment.
- Rehabilitation Policy
CNF & Associates Pty Limited is committed to the concept of workplace based occupational rehabilitation being available for all employees, in order to restore the injured worker to the fullest physical, psychological, social, vocational and economic potential available. To accomplish this, the following principles will apply:
- Occupational rehabilitation will commence as soon as possible after an injury or illness, in a manner that is consistent with medical judgement.
- The concept that return to work is normal and practical expectation is important in the rehabilitation of the injured worker.
To facilitate this, CNF & Associates Pty Limited will:
- Ensure the early access to accredited medical/rehabilitation services.
- Designate CNF & Associates as rehabilitation co-ordinator to ensure all components of this policy work effectively.
- Make available where practical a selected duties programme. The programme will consist of a graded set of duties, consistent with medical advice aimed at returning worker to normal duties.
- Where this is not possible, an alternative rehabilitation programme will be developed in conjunction with the rehabilitation providers.
- Participation in the rehabilitation programme will not prejudice an injured worker's job security or income as outlined in the Workers' Compensation Act (1987).
CNF & Associates Pty Limited, is committed to the concept of consolation between employees, Industrial Unions and the Company to ensure the effective operation of the rehabilitation programme.
To achieve this, CNF & Associates Pty Limited will:
- Ensure the rehabilitation co-ordinator liaises with all involved including the injured worker, industrial unions, management and rehabilitation providers to develop the rehabilitation programme and review it at regular intervals.
- Make all offers of a rehabilitation programme in writing. This will be consistent with rehabilitation providers advice as with any alteration to duties.
- Any employee has the right to attend their own doctor/rehabilitation provider, the Company has the right to send employees to the Company doctor/rehabilitation provider for a second opinion.
- Any disputes over occupational rehabilitation will be solved through consultation, however, should resolution not be possible, outside advice will be sought from the Division of Rehabilitation Services of the Department of Industrial Relations.
